Oklahoma Tragedy

Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Oklahoma tonight. At times like this, our colleagues in the emergency services are foremost in our minds. Despite suffering the same hardships as everyone else, they are on the job just like any other day. We salute their courage, honor their conviction, and pray for their safety.

National Volunteer Week

It’s National Volunteer Week, and WSFFA offers its thanks to everyone who volunteers to make their communities safer places to live. This year in particular, we are reminded that our local emergency responders' service, sacrifice and dedication come directly from their hearts. These countless daily unselfish acts make our world a better place.

Eastside Fire and Rescue issued a news release outlining the problem, “Recently, the Washington State Survey & Rating Bureau (WSRB) evaluated the Agency's fire department capabilities. The WSRB is the entity that provides information to insurance companies and capability ratings for fire departments in the State. It was noted that the Lake Joy Fire Station was lacking in volunteer recruits and has been without volunteers serving that area for several years,” the release said.
